Deer Vs Dog

Last week my female Blue Heeler got tangled up with a doe that had a fawn hidden away. She got after her and stayed on her until my dog finally ran up on the front porch to get away.
I thought I had seen everything but let me tell you I never thought I would see a deer get after a dog like that.
She survived but had she not been close to the house, the deer may have killed her!
Beware during the fawning season because, deer get VERY protective of their fawns and, will not think twice about defending them.
Has anyone else had this happen?
